Sub-sonic Liposuction

We Have:

Liposuction wet
Liposuction tumscent
Liposuction external ultra-sonic
Liposuction internal ultra-sonic

We now have SUB-SONIC LIPOSUCTION

WELL WHAT IS THAT ?

In the attempt to make fat removal more effective, methods and instruments have evolved that have increase our abilities to remove fat with less bleeding and with a better chance of a pleasing contour. The instrumentation has also increased the amount of fat that can be removed and the smoothness of the skin after removal.

One of the most important aspects of liposuction surgery is to have skin that he is smoother, smoother than it was before the operation. This is not possible in all cases. But this is our goal.

The most recent development is sub-sonic liposuction. In my experience it can allows for the more complete removal of fat and a better chance for a tighter, more pleasing skin contour. I use this method whenever possible.

Sub-sonic liposuction involves the use of a rapidly vibrating suction head. The cannula used is quite similar to the ones that we use during traditional liposuction. However the cannula is hooked to a vibrating machine. The machine causes the head of the cannula to move back and forth approximately one-eighth to one-quarter of an inch. It moves at speeds of three to four thousand times a minute. This differs from ultra-sonic liposuction in that ultra-sonic cannulas vibrate at 12 million times a second and the tip of the cannula moves only a few thousands of an inch.

The sub-sonic liposuction machine in my experience has been one of the more beneficial machines. It is easy to use and in my hands. There are somewhat less of a risk in using sub-sonic machine than when using ultra-sonic equipment. There certainly is a place for both techniques. The sub-sonic technique is one that will be use in most every case.

One of the benefits that I have noticed with this machine is the fact that there is less bleeding. There is also less tingling and discomfort than when the ultra-sonic machine is use. The question arises, is there a place for ultra-sonic liposuction. Yes. It has its best use in very tough tissues such as the hip area and also in areas of fairly loose, thin skin - such as the medial thigh area. Ultra-sonic liposuction in theory can tighten the shin and we have seen this. This seems to occur but to a lesser degree with sub-sonic liposuction.

We would evaluate your particular situation with a complimentary consult if you visit our consult page and bring a copy of that web page to the office.
